Guidecraft Educator Review #8 ~ 4-in-1 Flipping Floor Easel

Time for another Guidecraft Educator review! This month’s item is the 4-in-1 Flipping Floor Easel.

This easel features two different sides with 4 different ways to use it for quadruple the fun! One side is a magnetic whiteboard and can be used with dry erase markers. It comes with two rectangular magnets and a large roll of paper that attaches below so that you can draw or paint on paper that is held in place. The other side is a traditional chalkboard. Adults can assist children in flipping between the two sides by simply removing two wooden pegs (one on each side), flipping the writing surface, and replacing the pegs.

Lydia and my mom have one big thing in common ~ they both love to draw and paint! We were so excited to review this easel because it gave the two of them a great way to bond while creating artwork. Almost every time her grandmother comes over, Lydia asks if they can draw or paint together.

The great thing about this easel is just how versatile it is. Beyond having a chalkboard, markerboard, magnetic surface, AND paper roll, it is quite tall, so it will grow with your child. It’s sturdy, so it will last for many years. It can be used at home, in a preschool, or in an elementary school classroom. Writing on a vertical surface is a great way to develop fine motor skills in young children in all environments!

As I was writing this review, Lydia decided she wanted to paint. Our monthly theme is “Creepy Crawly Creatures,” so we made a bug painting together. Lydia proudly shows it off!

We even used our easel to write an agenda for our Valentine’s Day play date with a special friend.

The only thing I wish this easel came with is a set of paint cups that fit in the cup holders. Our cups are too big and do not fit in the holes, so we’ll have to get a new set.
